Layla Asia Lavender and Gregory Scott Sassone were married on July 11, 2008 at sunset on Palm Beach in Aruba. The sermon was delivered by Geoffrey Benfield and witnessed by 30 guests who flew in from across the country.
The bride is the daughter of Linda and Larry Lavender of Smyrna. She is the granddaughter of Dennis and Ethel Lavender of Townsend and Richard and Iolanda Zikowitz of Smyrna.
The groom is the son of Nick and Donna Sassone of Brightwaters, New York. He is the grandson of Nicolas and Catherine Sassone of New York and Cal and Ruth Homan of Arizona.
Maids of honor were the bride’s sisters, Londa and Lori Lavender. Best man was Tim Sassone, brother of the groom.
Layla is a Marketing Manager at Digitas in New York. She graduated from Smyrna High School in 1997, graduated from the University of Delaware in 2001, and will be graduating with an MBA in Marketing and International Business from Baruch College (New York) in February.
Greg is a Vice-President at Citigroup. He graduated from Bay Shore High School (New York) in 1994, Stony Brook University (New York) in 1998, and earned an MBA in Business Management from Fordham University (New York) in 2003.
Layla and Greg currently reside in Astoria, New York.
