The “Drive One 4 UR School” test drive fundraiser at Smyrna High School on October 4 sponsored by Ford Motor Company and Willis Ford raised $820 for the Smyrna High School Athletic Boosters.
The check presentation was made November 20 at the high school.
For every individual who participated in the test drive, Ford Motor Company and Willis Ford of Smyrna donated $20 to Smyrna High School. Forty-one people completed test drives at this unique event.
The $820 raised will be donated to the Smyrna High School Athletic Boosters.
“The Drive One 4 UR School event was great for the community,” said Willis Ford Sales Manager Rodney Peck. “Those who were skeptical of the event ended up enjoying it and appreciating what Ford has done for our school.”
Smyrna School District administrators thanked Ford for the donation.
“The Smyrna School District appreciates the partnership with Willis Ford and our Athletic Department,” said Smyrna School District Superintendent Debbie Wicks. “Wills Ford has been a big part of supporting Smyrna High School in the past and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
By participating in the Drive One 4 UR School event, Smyrna High School has been entered into a Ford nationwide sales competition. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize ($10,000, $5,000 and $2,500) given to the high schools that generate the most new Ford Division sales.
Across the country, hundreds of Ford dealers are partnering with local schools to host Drive One 4 UR School events (formerly known as Cruise 4 UR School), just like they did in Smyrna.
Ford is contributing up to $6,000 – the equivalent of 300 test drives – to each participating school, which can be used to support various programs and activities.
