Smyrna Middle School’s top female cross country runner, Maureen Hossler, has earned the opportunity to compete at Nationals in Alabama on December 6 by finishing 16th at the Regional middle school qualifiers.


Smyrna Middle School’s top female cross country runner, Maureen Hossler, has earned the opportunity to compete at Nationals in Alabama on December 6.

Hossler finished in 16th place at the Regional middle school qualifiers. The top 20 runners at the Regional qualifiers make the cut for Nationals.

SMS cross country coach Amy Moran said Hossler was Smyrna’s top runner throughout the season, and was the top runner overall at all but one regular season race.

Three SMS runners make top 20 at state meet

Three Smyrna Middle School runners placed in the top 20 at the Lower Delaware State Meet this year.

Hossler came in second place overall for the girls, while Bobbie Ennels came in ninth place and Samantha Geedy finished 18th.
