  • John Henry Quay of Clayton, Delaware passed away at home Saturday, January 17, 2009.
    He was 68.
    Mr. Quay was born April 20, 1940 in Elkton, Maryland the son of the late Frank and Mary Thompson Quay.
    He worked as the Recreation Supervisor for the State of Delaware Department of Corrections for 23 years before retirement.
    Mr. Quay was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR and enjoyed playing racketball.
    He also enjoyed playing Backgammon with his sons and grandchildren but his true love was spending time with his wife, Janice Sue Boggs Quay.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Shawn C. Quay of Smyrna, Delaware and Aaron D. Quay of Clayton; two brothers, Frank Quay, Jr. of Wilmington, Delaware and Charles Quay of Elkton, Maryland; a sister, Elsie Bullock also of Elkton and four grandchildren, Joshua, Shawn Jr., Nicholas and Sabrina.
    Services will be Saturday, January 24 at noon in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
    Burial will be private and the family request no flowers.
    In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to your favorite charity.
