The Smyrna election will be held at the Citizens’ Hose Company firehouse at 103 W. Commerce Street. Polls will be open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday.
In the race for the Smyrna mayor’s seat, voters will have three choices. Mayor Pat Stombaugh, the incumbent, is seeking her second term. Gene Mullen and Bill Pressley are also running for the mayor’s seat this year. In Smyrna, the mayor is elected for a term of two years.
Profiles of the candidates for mayor were printed in the April 15 Sun-Times newspaper.
An at-large council seat is also up for election this year. Bob Riddagh and Tony DeFeo are the two candidates for this three-year term. Profiles of these candidates were printed in the Sun-Times newspaper on April 8.
All eligible voters in Smyrna can cast votes for both of the seats in the election.
The District 3 council seat was also up for election this year, but incumbent Councilwoman Valerie White was unopposed in her re-election bid.
