Delaware Division Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Agents on routine patrol in the C&D Canal State Wildlife Area arrested four men, including one from Smyrna, for loitering for the purpose of sexual activity this week.


Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Agents on routine patrol in the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal State Wildlife Area made four arrests for loitering for the purpose of sexual activity this week.

On March 21, Mark G. Barcus, age 48, of Townsend, was arrested and charged with loitering for the purpose of sexual activity, inhaling chemicals, and excessive motor vehicle speed on a wildlife area. He was issued a summons to appear in court.

On March 23, three more arrests were made:

• Byard Leonard Harmer, age 66, of Smyrna, was arrested and charged with loitering for the purpose of sexual activity. He pled guilty at Justice of the Peace Court 9 in Middletown and was fined $30 plus court costs of $52.40.

• William Lewis Hathaway, age 73, of Havre de Grace, Md., was arrested and charged with loitering for the purpose of sexual activity. He pled guilty at Justice of the Peace Court 9 in Middletown and was fined $25 plus court costs of $51.50.

• Lloyd E. King, age 73, of Bear, was arrested, charged with loitering for the purpose of sexual activity and issued a summons to appear in court.
