Delaware State Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the man who robbed Citizens Bank in the Acme Supermarket in Newark Tuesday, March 30.


Delaware State Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the man who robbed Citizens Bank in the Acme Supermarket in Newark Tuesday, March 30.

The crime happened at about 4:45 p.m., at the bank and supermarket at 1 University Plaza.

The man pictured here in surveillance video entered the supermarket and went to Citizens Bank inside the store. He gave a note to the teller which demanded money and implied he was armed. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and then the man fled on foot towards the office complex located north of the shopping center.

The suspect was described as a black male, in his late 30’s to early 40’s, with a dark complexion, about 5'-10", 150-160 pounds, average build, dark colored goatee, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt worn tight around the face, a dark colored jacket with the hood up, dark pants and white latex gloves.
