Mary Gladys Godfrey of Smyrna died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was 19. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 22 from 7-9 p.m. and also on Friday, April 23 from 11 a.m.-12 noon in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Funeral services will begin Friday at noon at Faries Funeral Chapel.


Mary Gladys Godfrey of Smyrna died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was 19.

Mary was born February 27, 1991 in Wilmington, the daughter of Scottie Godfrey of Wilmington and Christine M. Morrison of Clayton.

Mary most recently enjoyed working as a Greeter for Applebee’s in Middletown and enjoyed babysitting because she loved kids.

She loved going to the beach, following Eagles football and listening to music and dancing. She routinely attended Little League baseball games in Smyrna.

She was scheduled to complete her High School Diploma from Groves Academy next week and was looking forward to furthering her education and becoming an Ultrasound Technician.

In addition to her birth parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Sandra Huebschman and her husband Martin; maternal grandfather, Michael Gaydosh; paternal grandparents, Augustus and Sharon Johnson; great-grandmother Irene Mugrage; soon to be step-father, Edward Thomas; three brothers, Sean Morrison, Dylan Bottomley, and Damien Thomas; four sisters, Amber Riggs, Casey Bottomley, Madison Bottomley, and Rachel Thomas; another baby sibling on the way that she was very excited about; Uncle Mike; Uncle Randy; Aunt Crystal; Uncle Gus; Great Aunt Brenda; several cousins; her boyfriend, Andrew Felicetti; her best friend, Pamela Dunning; and many other friends and extended family members.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 22 from 7-9 p.m. and also on Friday, April 23 from 11 a.m.-12 noon in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Funeral services will begin Friday at noon.
Burial will be in Old Drawyers Cemetery Odessa, Delaware.
