State Fire Marshal investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that caused $50,000 in damage to a Hartly-area home.


Officers with the state fire marshal’s office are investigating the a blaze that heavily damaged a home near Hartly.

The fire was reported shortly before 11 a.m. April 28 in the 2100 block of Gunter Road, southwest of Hartly, off of Arthursville Road (Rt. 11), said Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio.

Volunteers with the Hartly Fire Company arrived on the scene to find flames shooting through the roof of the one-story structure, he said.

There were no reported injuries.

The family of four living in the home will stay with family members, Chionchio said.

Damage was estimated at $50,000.
