The Smyrna High School Regiment of Red marching band took first place this past weekend at the William Penn Tournament of Bands competition at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington.


The Smyrna High School Regiment of Red marching band took first place this past weekend at the William Penn Tournament of Bands competition at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington.

The band increased its score to 83.35 and also earned honors for best drum majors in its group.

The band will travel to Broadneck High School on Saturday, Oct. 23 to compete in the Tournament of Bands Chapter 9 Championships.

The band hopes to receive a high enough score to qualify for the Atlantic Coast Championships on Oct. 31.
