  • The Smyrna mayor’s seat, the District 2 council seat and an at-large council seat will all be up for a vote on Monday, April 25 in the 2011 Smyrna municipal election.
    The polls will be open from 1-8 p.m. at the Citizens’ Hose Company firehouse at 103 W. Commerce St.
    All voters who live within town limits can vote for the mayor’s seat and the at-large council seat.
    Voting for the District 2 seat is limited to residents who reside within the district. District 2 consists of the areas west of Main Street and Rt. 13 and south of South Street, excluding Gardenside. The district includes the Lake Como area and the developments off of Sunnyside Road.
    The candidates for mayor are Pat Stombaugh (incumbent) and Bill Pressley.
    The candidates for the District 2 seat are Bill Raynor (incumbent) and Jeff Flairty.
    The candidates for the at-large seat are Chris Mann, Keith Markowitz, Joanne Masten and Luther Wynder Jr.
    The mayor’s seat has a 2-year term. Both council seats are for 3-year terms.
