Smyrna Police charged a Smyrna man with driving under the influence on Rt. 13 at Glenwood Avenue June 19.
On June 19 at 3:30 p.m., Smyrna Police received a report to be on the lookout for a possible drunk driver traveling north on Rt. 13. An officer saw a vehicle matching the description on Rt. 13 at Monrovia Avenue, and followed it.
After the vehicle struck a curb near Commerce Street, the officer turned on his lights and siren in an attempt to get the driver to pull over. The driver kept going but then came to an abrupt stop for a red light at Glenwood Avenue where the officer made the arrest.
Robert S. McCurdy, 49, of Smyrna was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. McCurdy was processed at the Smyrna Police Department and later released to await a court appearance.
