  • Smyrna Council gave the Smyrna-Clayton July 4th Association the go ahead to continue working on a Wine, Food, and Beer Festival.
    Council approved the idea 6-1 with Councilwoman Valerie White voting no.
    Joe Sheridan, a member of the association, informed council of the idea for the festival that originally came out of the Business Development Committee.
    The idea is for the festival tol feature local wineries, brewries, Smyrna restaurants and local crafters.
    “A discussion came up about doing something downtown to create an event for the Town of Smyrna which would bring people in,” Sheridan said. “We came up with a Wine, Food, and Beer Festival on the plaza.”
    All proceeds will go to the Smyrna-Clayton July 4th Association.
    The festival will be on July 14 on South Market Street Plaza.
