  • The Smyrna High boys and girls tennis teams beat Sussex Central Wednesday night.
    The boys team won their first match of the season 4-1 at Sussex Central while the Lady Eagles won 5-0 in their first home match of the season. The boys improved to 1-2, while the girls are 2-1.
    For the boys, Thomas Clark won at first singles 6-0, 6-0; Tugraberk Usal won at second singles 6-4, 6-2; Hakeem Nabi won at third singles 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2); Ryan Kaczorowski and J.W. Newlin lost at first doubles 4-6, 6-1, 10-3 (10-point tie breaker already won); and Josh Allison and Cody Cummings won at second doubles 6-1, 6-3.
    For the girls, Sarah Koehler won at first singles 6-2, 6-0; Rachel Blair won at second singles 6-0, 6-0; Katherine Clark won at third singles 6-0, 6-2; Courtney Walley and Marissa DiCamillo won at first doubles 6-0, 6-0; and Katie Morgan and Gabby Pope won at second doubles 6-0, 6-0.
    The Eagles tennis teams will go against Lake Forest tomorrow, March 30. The girls match will be at home, starting at 4 p.m. The boys will play at Lake.
