  • The Smyrna High School baseball team won their fourth game of the season last night in front of a home crowd with a 2-1 win over Delmar High.

  • The Smyrna High School baseball team won their fourth game of the season last night in front of a home crowd with a 2-1 win over Delmar High.
    The win eclipsed the number of wins for the Eagles last year as they finished the 2010-2011 season with a record of 3-12.
    Dustin Warren was the winning pitcher who had five strikeouts on the day. Gary Everage hit a solo homerun in the first but Delmar tied the game up in the third inning. Timmy Watts gave the Eagles the lead and the win in the bottom of the sixth inning when he received the RBI, scoring Robbie McKeldin.
    The win improved the Eagles record to 4-2 on the season.
    Their next game will be Tuesday, April 17 at home versus Sussex Tech. The game will start at 4:15 p.m.
