  • The Smyrna High girls soccer team beat Cape Henlopen 5-1 Thursday night in front of a home crowd.
    Falling behind1-0 after the first half, the Eagles came back scoring 5 goals in the second half for the win. Smyrna's record is now 3-1.
    Gabby Russillo scored twice, first on an assist by Maureen Hossler and then on an assist by Stacey Staley. Andrea Davis scored on an assist by Russillo. Dorothy Ford scored on an assist by Rebecca Pugh. The final goal of the game was by Pugh.
    Smyrna took 15 shots on the day with three corner kicks. Kayla Kennedy had eight saves on the day.
    The Eagles next game will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17 at home versus Polytech.
