  • Middletown woman dies in Townsend car accident

  • The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in which a Middletown woman has died.
     
    The incident occurred at approximately 9:21 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 as Leona Daubert, 75, was operating a 2008 Ford Escape and was traveling northbound on Lloyd Guessford Road in Townsend. For an unknown reason, as Daubert approached the three-way intersection at Blackbird Station Road, she continued traveling in a northbound direction across the travel lanes of Blackbird Station Road. Her vehicle then left the roadway and struck a tree where it came to rest.
     
    Leona Daubert, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported and admitted to the Christiana Hospital. Daubert was pronounced dead at the hospital on Saturday, April 14th.
     
    This crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
