  • Smyrna High School’s Raven Luckett won first place in the high jump at the Delaware Division I Track & Field Meet on May 18 and 19 at Caesar Rodney High School.

  • Smyrna High School’s Raven Luckett won first place in the high jump at the Delaware Division I Track & Field Meet on May 18 and 19 at Caesar Rodney High School.
    Luckett cleared 5’2” to take the title.
    She also placed 4th in the long jump with a distance of 16’ 4 3/4”, 5th in the 100-meter dash in 12.69 seconds, and 6th in the 200-meter race in 26.42 seconds.
    Here are the other Smyrna High School athletes who placed in the state meet by event:
    Girls
    3,200 meters - Tori Vickers, 3rd, 11:55.89
    1,600 meter relay - Smyrna, 4th, 4:11.63
    400 meters - Shi Hilliard, 5th, 1:00.41
    Triple jump - Shi Hilliard, 6th, 33’10”
    Pole vault - Gabby Jones, 6th, 8’0”
    1,600 meters - Tori Vickers, 8th, 5:33.09
    In the team standings, Smyrna finished 7th out of 17 teams. Cape Henlopen won the meet.
    Boys
    High jump - Korey Proctor, 5th, 6’2”
    3,200 meter relay - Smyrna, 5th, 8:24.97
    Discus - Isaiah Stephens, 6th, 121’9”; Carlos Velez, 7th, 121’7”
    Long jump - Korey Proctor, 7th, 21’ 3/4”
    1,600 meter relay - Smyrna, 7th, 3:34.40
    As a team, the Smyrna boys placed 12th out of 17 teams. Salesianum won the meet.
