  • The Smyrna High girls second doubles team will play for the state championship tomorrow afternoon at the University of Delaware.

  • The Smyrna High girls second doubles team will play for the second doubles state championship tomorrow afternoon at the University of Delaware.
    Gabby Pope and Katie Morgan advance to the finals after defeating CR's Aisha Hallman and Stephanie Rodgers 6-0, 5-7, 6-2 in the semi-finals Tuesday afternoon.
    Pope and Morgan came into the tournament with the number one seed after going 18-0 this year; 15-0 in the regular season and than 3-0 in the Henlopen Conference Tournament.
    They will face off against third seed Tower Hill in the state finals Wednesday afternoon.Tower Hill advances to the final after defeating St. Andrew's Tuesday.
    The match will begin at 1:30 p.m.
    Morgan and Pope had a bye in the first round of the tournament, defeated Middletown in the second round, won in three sets against Tatnal on Monday in the quarterfinals, and again won in three sets today against CR.
