  • The Smyrna High School softball team lost Saturday 11-1 to #1 seed Caravel in the first round of the state tournament.
    The Eagles kept the game close going into the fourth inning but things started to crumble as Caravel scored seven runs.
    After a 9-9 season, the Smyrna High School softball team still made it back to the state tournament this year as the 16th seed in the tournament.
    The Lady Eagles won their final home game of the season May 22 with a 3-1 win over #8 seed Padua.
    Smyrna lost in the state championship game last year against Caravel.
