Lillian Morton-De Veaux of Clayton, DE, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in the presence of her loving husband and children.
Lillian was born on September 7, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Fred Morton and Ella Wee Burton-Morton.
She was the youngest of five children. Lillian was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Ellis; eight children and spouses; Leatha (Jack), Skeet (Anna), George, Wanda (Golden), Gail, Ray, Buncy and Peaches (Marty); four adopted children and spouses, Gloria (Lester), Danita (James) and Parmella; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws and spouses; Sissy, Ruby (Doug), Pearle, Oheilda (Jean), and Nancy; her step-mother, Pearl; her friends to the end; Bonita Ray and Sis Bailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adoptees, neighbors and friends whom loved her dearly.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 7, from 9 to 11 a.m., in Holy Ghost Headquarters, located at 858 North Broad Street, Philadelphia. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.
A private burial will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, June 8, at 2 p.m.
