  • The first-ever Smyrna/Clayton Craft Beer, Wine & Food Festival was Saturday on South Market Street Plaza in Smyrna. While the numbers aren't in yet, it appears the festival was a hit the first go around.
From start to finish, the event had plenty of people going from tent to tent to check out the various craft beers, wines, food and artisans.
Mayor Pat Stombaugh and several council members even addressed the event at Monday's council meeting about how great the event turned out. Stombaugh thanked Joe and Shirley Sheridan for their hard work and the work of the sub-committee who planned the event. The Business Development Committee sponsored the event.
"I'm very proud for what it did for our town," Stombaugh said. "It was a great day. So many people came up to me at the event to tell me how great it was."
Proceeds from the event will go to the Smyrna/Clayton July 4th Association.
