Registration is still open for this summer’s field hockey camp in Smyrna. The camp is for girls interested in field hockey from seventh to 12th grade.

Camp will be held at the Smyrna Middle School/High School fields and the middle school gym 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 through Thursday, Aug. 9.

Throughout camp fundamental skills, stick work, communication and teamwork will be stressed as necessary to be successful.

A typical day includes warm ups, work in individuals skills, partner skills, group drills, offense, defense and scrimmages. Sessions will begin at 9 a.m. on the high school field hockey turf field.

The camp will be run by Wesley College field hockey coach Tracey Short, current and former college players, and former SHS players.

The cost is $150.

Player’s will need a stick, cleats, sneakers, shin guards, and a mouth guard for each session. Camp runs rain or shine.

Player’s can pick up the registration form at Smyrna Middle School or Smyrna High School.
