  • Herbert “Herb” Leland Leadley, age 83, of Castle Rock, Colorado passed away peacefully on August 2, 2012 surrounded by his children.

  • Herbert “Herb” Leland Leadley, age 83, of Castle Rock, Colorado and formerly of Smyrna, Delaware passed away peacefully on August 2, 2012 surrounded by his children.
    He was born in Stark County, Illinois on July 10, 1929.
    He is survived by his loving wife Betsee Leadley of Castle Rock and his children: Brenda Leadley of Paris, France; Gregg Leadley (wife Katrin) of Munich, Germany; and Lynn Leadley of Castle Rock, Colorado; four grandchildren: Zane, Sammy, Pascal, and Armand, and his twin brother Donald Leonard Leadley (wife Jane) of Aurora, Colorado.
    Herb graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Industrial Engineering after serving in the United States Air Force as a jet fighter pilot.
    He and Betsee raised their three kids in Smyrna, Delaware before retiring to Fort Myers, Florida.
    He worked for IBM as a systems engineer for 28 years and retired from the USAF Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel.
    He will be remembered as a loving, kind, wise father, husband, brother, son, and friend.
    A memorial service to celebrate the memory of his life will be held in late December in Colorado. Contributions as a memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado as a tribute to his wife Betsee.
