  • Delaware SPCA declares the trial run of its Trap-Neuter-Return Program in Harrington a success. Almost 30 free-roaming or feral cats were neutered last week.
As part of the program, the SPCA, along with several volunteers, humanely traps the cats, spay or neuter them, vaccinate them, and then return them to their colony. A colony caretaker with the TNR provides food, shelter and monitors the cats’ health. The city of Harrington has approximately 600 feral cats living in its neighborhoods.
The Delaware SPCA will fully-implement the program in the coming months. For more information, visit www.delspca.org.
