  • Traffic stop leads to drug arrest of two Smyrna men

  • Two Smyrna men were arrested Sept. 11 on drug charges following a traffic stop.
    Smyrna Police stopped a vehicle Sept. 11 at 11:07 p.m. on East Commerce Street at Route 13 for a broken taillight.
    Police said the driver could not locate his registration or insurance cards so the officer had the man exit the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, the officer recovered prescription pills and suspected marijuana.
    Donald E. Ennis, 53, of Smyrna, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy 3rd degree, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and an equipment violation. Ennis was presented at Justice of the Peace Court 7 via videophone and released on a $2,525 unsecured bond.
    Passenger Patrick D. Moore, 30, of Smyrna, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and conspiracy 3rd degree. Moore was presented at Justice of the Peace Court 7 via videophone and released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
