  • Wanted Clayton man found in Smyrna

  • Smyrna Police responded Sept. 11 at 8:43 p.m. to the unit block of West Mount Vernon Street in reference to information that a subject wanted on outstanding warrants was inside the residence.
    Officers made contact with a woman who insisted that the wanted man was not there and advised officers that they could check for themselves, police said. While officers were looking through the residence the woman kept telling them the man was not there. Officers located Thomas E. Warner, 39, of Clayton, hiding underneath the kitchen sink.
    Warner was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest and was presented at Justice of the Peace Court 7 via videophone and committed to the James T. Vaughn Jr. Correctional Center in default of a $10,000 secured bond.
    Shannon K. Collins, 35, of West Mount Vernon Street in Smyrna was charged with hindering prosecution. Collins was presented at Justice of the Peace Court 7 via videophone and released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
