  • The Smyrna High School boys cross country team swept the top six positions on the way to a 15-50 win over Polytech Wednesday in Smyrna.

  • The Smyrna High School boys cross country team swept the top six positions on the way to a 15-50 win over Polytech Wednesday in Smyrna.
    The meet was held just east of Smyrna at the Delaware State University Research Farm on Smyrna-Leipsic Road.
    Smyrna's Gabe Mojica won the meet with a time of 17:52.
    Ludric Francis finished second in 18:10.
    Ben Sanchez placed third for the Eagles with a time of 18:57.
    Travis Baker crossed the finish line in fourth at 19:05. Juan Mendoza was fifth with a time of 19:08, and Ryan Stypinski placed sixth for the Eagles in 19:32 — all before the first Polytech runner.
    One more runner finished in the top 10 for Smyrna: Kyle Coburn in eighth with a time of 19:45.
