  • A Smyrna man was arrested Oct. 17 following an investigation into the illegal sale of alcohol at his residence.
After receiving information about the possible sale of alcohol at the residence, the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement (DATE) began its investigation.
Francis O. Kalb, 78, of Blackbird Forest Road near Smyrna, is accused of hosting large parties at his residence and selling alcohol to patrons or charging general admission for the parties and providing attendees with alcohol. A search warrant was obtained for the location and executed on October 13. DATE agents seized several documents detailing entertainment contacts for the parties, names of attendees to each event, advertisements for parties, and the purchase of alcohol. Agents also seized three kegs of beer and $1,000 cash.
Kalb was charged with Keep or Sell Alcohol without a License and Possession of Alcohol with the Intent to Sell in a Residence and released on a $4,500 unsecured bail.
