  • The volunteer tree planting event at the Blackbird Creek Reserve scheduled for Oct. 27 has been postponed due to the impending coastal storm.
“We are postponing our tree planting event because of the potential heavy rains and strong winds that could come with the storm,” said Kimberly Cole, Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve Manager. “The storm and possible flooding could damage newly planted trees in the Reserve. We appreciate the support of the many volunteers who planned to participate in tomorrow’s tree planting and will be contacting those who pre-registered when a new date is determined.”
