Work will begin on the second phase of the U.S. Route 13 corridor/median project on or about Thursday, Nov. 1 and continue for approximately four weeks, according to a Town of Smyrna announcement.
The project will be done at night Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Some lane closures will be required. The project will comply with all DelDOT required maintenance of traffic and safety requirements including flaggers, lighting, arrow signs and barrels.
The project location is the Route 13 median from Mill Street to Commerce Street. The project involves removal of portions of the concrete median, removal and replacement of fill materials, storm water modifications, installation of epoxy surfaces, and installation of plant materials.
The contractor is Clean Cut/Interlocking Pavers and the project will be completed under the supervision of Matt Spong, of Landscape Architectural Services, who is acting as the town's landscape architect and project manager.
A temporary construction office and work staging area has been established off of Mill Street.
