A caravan of vehicles will leave Wilmington Nov. 7 to bring emergency relief to people on Staten Island.
Millions are still without power and unable to buy gas to drive to shelters and distribution centers. Ceil DiNozzi, a parishioner at St. Polycarp in Smyrna and a native New Yorker, is spearheading local efforts to gather non-perishable food, juice, boxes, diapers and baby wipes and more.
Those who wish to help and donate can bring items to Mother Drexel Hall at St. Polycarp, at the intersection of South Street and Ransom Lane in Smyrna. The hall will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday. For more information call (302) 650-7707.
