  • Smyrna man turns himself in for rape of girl

  • A Smyrna man turned himself in Tuesday at the Smyrna Police Department in reference to numerous incidents that have occurred between him and a 9-year-old female victim over the last twelve months.
    Scott S. Street, 39, of the 900 block of Boxwood Drive in Smyrna, was charged with first degree rape, sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust, continuous sexual abuse of a child, unlawful sexual contact with a person less than 13 years old and endangering the welfare of a child.
    Street was processed at the Smyrna Police Department and presented at Justice of the Peace Court 2 via videophone and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of a $275,000 secured bond.
