  • The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recognized the one year old Delaware Citizen Corps for its work in preparing the state for potential disasters.
    The Citizen Corps received the Honorable Mention Individual and Community Preparedness award. FEMA cited the local group's innovative practices and achievements.
    In addition to public education and outreach, the Delaware Citizen Corps conducts training to help volunteers play important roles during disasters. The group works under the umbrella of the Delaware Emergency Management Agency.
