AISLE SAY has attended 100's of Delaware theatrical and non-profit events in the past 30 years. March 6 may mark THE most innovative of them all; with beneficent and far reaching consequences.

            The inspirations for the MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival comes, in large part, from the Charleston Wine + Food Festival in South Carolina. Ajit George has attended that festival for years, and not only is it a world-class wine and food event, but it's also had a marked effect on Charleston, helping to place it on the map of the foodie community.

            That's had a real economic impact on the city that extends far beyond the 18,000 people who attend the festival every year -- and that's the kind of impact that is possible with this festival in Delaware.

            The MWFF is about bringing the world to Delaware -- chefs and winemakers coming from five different continents -- but equally important, it's about exposing our talented regional chefs and our cuisine to the world. Every winemakers dinner features both regional and visiting chefs, sometimes working in collaboration on the same dish.

            And events like our Pop Up Restaurant 2020 are designed to show off the next generation of Delaware chefs.

            "It's not surprising to me that the first event to sell out was the 'Taste of the Chesapeake' lunch," said Ajit Mathew George, co-chair of the MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival. "People who live in this area are proud of their heritage, and we tried to reflect that in many Festival events."

            Events like "The Craft of Beer" celebrate breweries local to the mid-Atlantic, and also nearing sell-out: Scrapplegasm, the celebration of the classic mid-Atlantic breakfast treat at the Hotel du Pont.

            This 5 day event spans our 3 counties and is a singular event that brings panache, savoir faire and joie de vivre packaged in an implausible 50+  events offering delectables to the palate no matter the level of sophistication.

            The only Delaware event that remotely comes close in psycho cybernetic vision is "Evening With The Masters", benefiting MealsOnWheelsDE.org. Oh, that too is the brainchild of one Mr. Ajit Mathew George.

            Look for the Village Festival Tent in Rodney Square that is the anchor through the proceedings.
