  • A fire in a vacant house in Leipsic March 13 has been declared arson by the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
    The fire occurred in the unit block of West Street in the town limits of Leipsic, said Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal B. Scott Bullock. The fire was reported by a neighbor at 8:50 p.m.
    When firefighters from the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company responded to the call, they saw smoke and fire coming from the front of the home. The blaze was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported, Bullock said.
    Deputy State Fire Marshals responded to investigate, and determined the fire was intentionally set inside the home. Damages were estimated at $5,000.
