  • Clayton Police arrest Dover man, Smyrna woman for drugs, other offenses

  • A Dover man and a Smyrna woman were arrested March 19 by Clayton Police and charged with several offenses including possession of heroin.
    On March 19 at approximately 2:38 p.m., a Clayton Police officer observed a vehicle in which the passenger was a suspect from a vehicle pursuit on March 13. The officer stopped the vehicle and took the passenger into custody.
    Police said a search of the man revealed drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs. The vehicle had fictitious tags, no insurance and was searched prior to it being towed, which revealed 31 grams of suspected heroin inside, police said.
    Randolph E. Wayman, 26, of Mast Circle in Dover, was charged with failure to stop on command, numerous traffic offenses, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, second degree conspiracy, possession of heroin, and five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
    The driver of the vehicle, Ashlie F. Winder, 27, of Holly Hill Estates, was charged with possession of heroin, second degree conspiracy, five counts of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspected license, no insurance, and fictitious tags.
    Police said both subjects were transported to Justice of the Peace Court No. 7 and committed to the Department of Corrections in default of bond - Wayman of $52,250 secured, and Winder of $54,035.
