So last night I abandoned my husband, the kids, and the dog-who-shall-not-be-named (to find out why the dog is in the dog house, check out my last blog post) and went to Ridgewood NJ for two great events at Bookends bookstore.
First I hung out with some very cool Ridgewood moms at a wine and cheese hosted by a group called, naturally, Ridgewood Moms. A lot of them had, like me, left behind their big jobs and life in the city, moved to NJ, and had also become Lost in Suburbia. We all traded notes and commiserated over those early childhood days when you are so sleep deprived you feel like you could take a nap on the conveyer belt of the checkout line at the supermarket, and so unfashionable that you actually believe peanut butter and jelly stains on your shirt are a fashion statement.

My six city book tour is gearing up to start next week! I’m still adding in dates and locations so stand by for more on that. But we’ve added a couple of great sponsors, including Sweet Loren’s which makes INSANELY good all-natural, ready-to-bake desserts like brownies and cookies, and Jennifer Lee Photography which is based in New York and specializes in stunning family portraits and capturing moments that matter.
Please check them both out!
Also, don’t forget, my appearance on THE TODAY SHOW with Hoda and Kathie Lee is coming up next tuesday. I’d love you to watch if you are home between 10 and 11am! If not, set your DVR!
