  • Smyrna Police search for rape suspect

    Smyrna Police are releasing more information regarding the alleged rape that took place Wednesday afternoon in town.
    Police said the victim advised detectives that she does recall seeing a tattoo of some type on one of the arms of the suspect.
    Smyrna Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a rape that occurred Wednesday night.
    Police received a complaint of a rape that occurred Wednesday between 4 to 6 p.m. While walking in the wooded area behind the Buck Algonquin building on North Main Street, police said the 14-year-old victim was attacked from behind and dragged into the woods.
    The suspect is described as being a white male in his early to mid-20s, 5'10" to 6' tall, short crew cut-type dark hair, no facial hair, or distinguishing characteristics. The suspect was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt.
