The Kent County Summer Feeding Program is starting back up in the next few weeks.
Kids are out of school for the summer and the Kent County Summer Feeding Program, in conjunction with the Department of Education, helps to alleviate childhood hunger during summer vacation.
Children ages 18 and under are eligible. Meals are delivered to sites, which include churches, camps and more. The program runs Monday through Saturday. Meals served include breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Breakfast is also available for Sunday schools.
The program starts Monday, June 17 and runs through Saturday, August 17. There is no delivery on Thursday, July 4.
Volunteers are needed to help run the program. Any individual, church, or group interested in volunteering can contact Program Director Sandy Dukes at (302) 653-3874 or KCSFP@yahoo.com.
