  • Smyrna Police issue four Megan's Law notifications

  • The Smyrna Police Department has issued four Megan's Law community advisories for offenders who have either registered their place of residency or employer within the Town of Smyrna
    These are just community advisories; none of the men are wanted.
    Wayne W. Burris, a moderate risk tier 2 sex offender, registered his place of residency on West North Street. Burris, 47, was convicted in 1993 of second degree unlawful sexual contact and for having sexual contact. The victim's age at the time of offense was birth to 11 years old.
    Matthew D. Anders, a moderate risk tier 2 sex offender, has registered his place of residency on West Commerce Street. Anders, 28, was convicted in 1998 on two counts of third degree unlawful sexual contact. The victim's age at the time of offense was birth to 11 years old.
    Bryan Furtaw, a moderate risk tier 2 sex offender, has registered as a student in the Smyrna School District. Furtaw, 17, was convicted in April of two counts of fourth degree rape and sexual penetration without consent. The victim's age at the time of the offense was 12 to 15 years old.
    William Ridgway, a moderate risk tier 2 sex offender, has registered his employer on Jimmy Drive in Smyrna.
