  • Smyrna Field Hockey camp starts August 5

  • Registration is open for the 2013 Smyrna Field Hockey Camp. Camp will be held at the Smyrna Middle/Smyrna High School fields and middle school gym Monday, Aug. 5 through Thursday, Aug. 8.
    The camp is being held for all girls interested in playing field hockey in grades sixth through twelfth. The camp will stress fundamental skills, stick work communication, and teamwork that is necessary to be successful.
    The SMS café will be open at 8:30 a.m. for players to drop off their lunch. Sessions will begin at 9 a.m. on the SHS field hockey turf field. Participants will take a lunch break, work on team bonding activities, and continue the afternoon session until 3 p.m. The camp is an excellent way to prepare for the upcoming field hockey season.
    Wesley College field hockey coach Tracey Short will run the camp along with current college players and former Smyrna High school players.
    The cost of the camp is $150. Players will need a stick, cleats, sneakers, shin guards, and a mouth guard for each session (rain or shine).
