  • Members of Kent County's Levy Court will hear a report on the current status of the county's dog control contract with Safe Haven animal sanctuary.
Levy Court commissioners have set the meeting for 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in Levy Court chambers at 555 Bay Ave., Dover.
The overview and status report will be provided by Lois Fargo, president of Safe Haven's board of directors.
The no-kill shelter has come under increasing scrutiny lately due to its financial problems, as has the county's contract with the shelter to handle dog control efforts.
The commissioners have scheduled a public comments session following Fargo's report, but are not scheduled to make any decisions that evening.
The meeting is open to the public.
