  • Smyrna woman arrested for allegedly filing false report of ATM robbery

  • A Smyrna woman was arrested Friday morning after allegedly filing a false report of a robbery.
    Smyrna Police were informed Friday at 5:34 a.m. of a robbery that occurred at approximately 2 a.m. in the unit block of South Main Street.
    The woman advised she had withdrawn $700 from an ATM, then was approached by a black male who demanded the money from her and fled in an unknown vehicle.
    Further investigation revealed the woman did not withdraw any money from the ATM that she alleged and no robbery ever occurred, police said.
    Daina M. Davis, 32, of Smyrna was charged with filing a false report. She was processed at the Smyrna Police Department and presented at Justice of the Peace Court No. 7 via videophone then released on a $500 unsecured bond.
