  • Grace E. Skrobacs of Smyrna, DE passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at home in Smyrna, DE. She was 90.
    Mrs. Skrobacs was born July 14, 1923 in Walkertown, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Elisabet Illar.
    She was a member of West Pike Run Ladies Aid Society and a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church of Daisytown, PA.
    Grace was a multi-faceted woman, and she held many roles throughout her 90 years: daughter, sister, wife, sister-in-law, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, God-mother, aunt, and friend. She took all of these roles seriously and tried her best to provide for each. Family and community were everything to Grace, and immersing herself in them was her profession.
    Grace lived her 90 years as best she could, and she'll continue to live on in our hearts and memories.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Milton; and her son, Lawrence M. Skrobacs.
    She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Castro and her husband Bob of Smyrna, DE; two grandchildren, Nick Castro of Smyrna, and Maria Correll and her husband, Rob of Smyrna; five great-grandchildren, Chloe, Dominic, Colton, Chase, and Leah; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
    A viewing was held on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 10 a.m., in Mariscotti Funeral Home located on 323 4th St., California, PA.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m.
    Burial was in Phillipsburg Cemetery in California, PA.
