Paul A. Wagner, of Smyrna Del., died August 21, 2013 after surviving Multiple Myeloma for 7 years.
Paul was born in Kingston, Pa., on April 21, 1957 to Alden and Elsie Wagner.
He graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for more than 30 years as an engineer at power plants.
Paul embraced life.
He was a trombone player. He played with the Citizens' Hose Band of Smyrna for over 20 years. He also enjoyed his time playing with the Milford Community Band.
He taught himself to sail after college by using a windsurfer and this June he accomplished one of his dreams and circumnavigated the Delmarva Peninsula. His interests and hobbies were many.
Paul was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Smyrna.
Paul is survived by his wife Martha; his mother Elsie Wagner of Lancaster, Pa; his brother Mark L. Wagner; his sister-in-law Laurie and nieces Ruby and Zoe of Alameda, Calif.; and by his stepchildren, Alicia and Lewis Jobson, Melanie Werenczak, Paula Werenczak; and his grandchildren, Peter, Cynthia, and Susan. He is also survived by his cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends and, co-workers that he loved very much.
Paul was predeceased by his father, Alden F. Wagner Jr.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 31 at noon at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be private.
