  • Detectives from the Delaware State Police New Castle County Drug Unit arrested two Clayton residents Monday after finding marijuana growing at their home in the 700 block of Saltere Road.
Police said the investigation began after detectives received a tip advising them that marijuana was being grown in the back yard of the home. Upon arrival Monday at 10 a.m., detectives could see the plants in the rear of the yard.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the property and recovered seven marijuana plants (approximately 700 grams) and associated paraphernalia, police said.
The residents of the house, Timothy A. Dixon, 45, and Victoria A. Scalise, 20, were both taken into custody at the scene and charged with manufacturing marijuana, second-degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said both Dixon and Scalise were released on $12,000 unsecured bail.
