  • The Smyrna volleyball team won its first match of the season in a 3-0 decision over winless Milford.
    The Lady Eagles easily won the first set 25-6 behind strong serving and a solid defensive effort.
    The young Lady Buccaneers fought back hard in the second set, but come up the short end of 25-17 score.
    Smyrna finished off the match in the third set, again winning by the score of 25-6.
    Milford is now 0-3 to start the season and will play Cape Henlopen on the road next Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 5 p.m.
    Smyrna improved to 1-1 after falling to St. Mark's in their first match. The Eagles will host Delaware Military Academy next Tuesday, Sept. 17th, beginning at 5 p.m.
