  • Delaware State Police searching for two wanted Smyrna sex offenders

  • The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit (S.O.A.R) is currently looking for two Smyrna sex offenders who have failed to register their sex offender status.
    Police said investigators have obtained a warrant for Wayne W. Burris, 47, who is a Tier II sex offender, after they learned he failed to register as required by law.
    He is described as a white male, 5'10" tall, 180lbs., with red hair and blue eyes. He may be in the Smyrna area, police said.
    Investigators have also obtained a warrant for Stephen J. Bridges, 26, who is a Tier III sex offender, after they learned he failed to register as required by law, police said.
    Bridges is described as being a white male, 5'8", 171 lbs., with brown hair and hazel eyes. Police said Bridges may also be in the Smyrna area.
    The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit is asking anyone who may know the location of Burris to call 9-1-1 or (302) 672-5306. Citizens may also provide a tip by texting keyword "DSP" plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters may also provide information through lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
