Mary F. Davis, of Hartly, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 74.
Mary was born September 30, 1938 in Smyrna, DE to the late Harold and Dorothy (McClain) Allen. She had worked as a nurse's aide for over 12 years in various facilities, including Scott Nursing Home, Crescent Farms, and D.H.C.I.
Mary loved watching soap operas, reading historical romance novels, going to Bingo, and the Slots, and enjoyed good food.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Frederick Allen; a sister, Edna Heverin, and two sons, Dale Davis and Robert Jones.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Barbara Miller and her husband, William, with whom she resided; a son, George Davis III and his wife, Lisa, of Smyrna; her grandchildren, who she loved dearly, Kim Pawlyk and her husband, Jason, of Magnolia, Amy Miller, of Hartly, Kristina Davis, of Smyrna, and Chris and Brett Jones, of Dover; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Jones, of Dover; a sister, Dorothy Grace, of Seaford; and a brother, Bob Allen, of Dover, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 25 at 1 p.m., in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where family and friends may gather from noon to 1 p.m. Burial will take place privately.
